About

Here at Archaic Phantoms we aim to highlight stories that capture the classic gothic horror feeling: haunting, cryptic, and macabre. This genre has been around for centuries, yet it is experiencing a kind of revival in 21st century film, literature, and art. These dark stories of monsters, psychological demons, and chilling atmospheres often reveal timely fears and sentiments of the society from which they come in the physical horrors that represent them. The goal of this magazine is to pay homage to traditional conventions and imagery of gothic horror while also contributing a contemporary lens to the societal fears and issues it can represent.
